Dr. Nick Morio is the oldest of five children. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and raised on a family farm just outside of Cedar Rapids in Palo, Iowa. They grew corn, soybeans and raised a variety of livestock. He participated in several sports in High School and graduated from Cedar Rapids Kennedy in 1995. He then attended the University of Iowa for the duration of his education. In undergrad he majored in Microbiology and was involved in a work study program at the University of Iowa greenhouses. He held many leadership positions through dental school including president of the student research group and senior class co-president. He graduated from his residency program at UIHC with a masters degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Morio’s wife, Kimberly, is a dentist in the United States Air Force stationed at Scott Air Force Base near St. Louis. They have two labrador retrievers named Bella and Bentley, and together, including the dogs, they enjoy sports, outdoors, and Hawkeye Football. Dr. Morio is a member of the Linn County Dental Society, the Iowa and American Dental Associations, and the Iowa and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also adjuncts as an Assistant Professor in the Oral Surgery Department at the University of Iowa.
